Manicures is my favourite guilty pleasure, for over a year now I have applied Acrylic and Gelish to my nails.
I always get asked where I get my nails done, and my go to place has been Sorbet Nail Salon. My beautician Dorothy from the Glen Village branch in Faerie Glen, Pretoria East does the most amazing work on my hands.
My nails were not always so long and healthy before, they used to break and were very weak but since applying the Acrylic I’ve been able to grow them naturally. I have never liked fake nails or tips as the don’t have a natural look.
Here are a few pictures of the different colours and shapes I have experimented with.
Recently I started shaping my nails in the coffin shape, the reason for the coffin name is that it curves like a coffin towards the end, its a great alternative to round and square nail shapes.
Here are some nail tips for caring for your nails:
- Push back your nail bed as often as once a month
- Acrylic only needs be soaked off after 3-4 times.
- Use cuticle cream for your nail bed as soaking off Acrylic tends to dry out your nail bed.
- Zinc and Vitamin A are good for strong and natural nail growth.
Girls go ahead and express yourself with your nails.
